Master Page inheritance breaks Apps

Stand alone apps error accessing referenced master page because the reference is outside of the app web.

Setting the Master page and selecting "Reset all subsites to inherit this site master page setting" will break all of your Apps!!!!

Content Query Web Part Server Error Key cannot be null

Adding a content query web part and selecting "edit web part properties" may give you the following error.
Exception Details: System.ArgumentNullException: Key cannot be null.
Parameter name: key
